About
Vitacca Vocational School for Dance, Woodlands Children's Program offers a fun, enriching selection of dance classes for children ages three to eight within the Fall, Spring, and Summer Terms. These classes introduce the aspiring dancer to technical fundamentals, classroom etiquette and art form appreciation. Open registration; request a free trial class below. All students may participate in the annual end-of-year performance, Dance Soiree. Children’s Program classes include:

PLACEMENT
Students ages 3–8 are placed by age as of September 1, while students 9 and up are placed by knowledge, ability and potential as part of our Vocational Training or Pre-Professional Programs.

Ballet is fun! The introduction of ballet-based movement begins at this young age. Students begin developing their gross motor skills using various types of music, props, and their imagination. Students practice taking instruction, plus direction, in an enriching and artistic environment.

This division continues the development of gross motor skills while focusing on the foundation for ballet technique and the introduction to barre work. Students explore working with others, use of space, and the introduction to ballet fundamentals.

For greatest growth and development, it is highly recommended dancers attend all classes listed below. One ballet class is required.

PRIMARY BALLET continues to broaden the student’s ballet vocabulary, coordination, flexibility, alignment, and classroom etiquette. Articulation of the dancer's footwork and the introduction to one-handed barre work is a focus.

Our TAP & JAZZ classes are a fun introduction to the techniques of tap and jazz dance. With both styles packaged into the Tap/Jazz Combo sessions, these classes provide a dynamic educational experience for young students.

TUITION
Division training costs (tuition) is based on a 35-week season and divided into 10 payments from August through May. Month to month registration is not offered. All tuition and fees are non-refundable.

TUITION PAYMENT

For online registration, please note that PayPal and online payment with a credit card incurs an event platform processing fee. Zelle payment does not incur a processing fee.

Children’s Program registration is based on age as of September 1. Families may register online or by downloading and filling out the corresponding forms below and submitting via email, mail, or in person before the first day of class.

CLASS ATTIRE
General
All dancers are responsible for wearing the correct dress code for their class level. If the dancer does not have the correct attire, the student may be asked to watch the class. For a list of required attire, please click below.
HAIR
All students in Ballet classes must have their hair up in a bun. Bangs and long ends need to be pulled neatly back and secured with pins. A mist of hairspray should be used to keep loose ends out of the face and off the neck. Children with short hair (above the neck) need to secure the hair off the face and neck (bun is not necessary for very short hair).
JEWELRY & GLASSES
For the student's own safety, no jewelry is to be worn in class. Dancers with glasses are required to wear an eyeglass retainer strap.
